FIRST provides every student with a variety of experiences, from business to robot design and strong personal skills to engineering. These experiences are made possible through the guidance of mentors, teachers, and engineers. 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene. This was the original team name for 280; though, it was later shortened to the acronym TNT for lack of proper pronunciation. This name did not come from an interest in pyrotechnics; on the contrary, it was created by a few exceptional chemistry students who were very intrigued by science. It was then the students were introduced to, by one of the teachers, the AC/DC song TNT; which, over time, was adopted as the team's theme song.

We are comprised of 26 students, 5 teachers, 5 engineers, and 4 mentors, all stemming from different backgrounds. Together we create an atmosphere which promotes integrated learning: students learning from the teachers and mentors, teachers and mentors learning from the engineers, and the engineers learning from the students. As a team, we are able to work through the many challenges placed before us in an exciting and successful manner.
